High Capacity Structured Packing

High Capacity Structured Packing (KUBPAK ULTRA SERIES)

High capacity structured packing belongs to the ULTRA Series, and has a unique texture to give a superb liquid spread. KPT’s ULTRA series High capacity structured packing directs the gas section and limits confined fluid hold-up.
It has been utilized in columns to increase capacity, reduce pressure drop for new development, and for replacing standard sheet metal structured packings, regular random packings, and trays.

FAQ'S

They are specially designed to use in distillation and absorption columns, as well as chemical reactors. They usually consist of thin corrugated metal plates or gauzes, designed to force fluids on complicated paths throughout the column.

Random packing uses a random distribution of small packing materials to assist in the separation process, while structured packing uses larger, fixed packing structures.

It is made from a variety of materials including Stainless steel, Nickel Based Alloys, Hastelloy, Titanium, Tantalum, Monel.

To improve separation in distillation columns packing material can be used instead of trays as it offers the advantage of a lower pressure drop across the column.
