Bubble Cap Tray (KPT TRAY-4)

Bubble Cap Tray (KPT TRAY-4)

Bubble Cap Tray is the most seasoned kind of trays being used. These trays are called “fluid fixed” trays, in which the vapor passes behind through the short lines called risers covered by a cap with serrated edge or spaces. They are generally used when no leakage is allowed and also used for low liquid loads and have a very high turndown ratio. Available up to 6m with 50-100 mm caps.

At all vapour flow rates a foreordained fluid level will be maintained on trays. Offers benefit to work wide scope of fluid stream rates.

Bubble Cap Trays are available up to 6m with 50-100 mm caps.
MOC Stainless prepares, 904L, 254SMO, Duplex, SS410S, Titanium, Hastelloy, Copper or any metal/combination as per client demand.
Key Characteristics: Bubble cap tray used for low liquid loads. Exceptionally wide turndown proportion. Widest operating range due to leak-tight design & high efficiency.

Applications:

  1. Amine absorbers & regenerators.
  2. Caustic towers.

FAQ'S

Bubble cap trays are generally used when minimal leakage is allowed. They are also used for low liquid loads and have a very high turndown ratio.

Inside the bubble cap tray, caps have a high turn-down ratio and are commonly used for low liquid loads.

The bubble cap trays have many holes or bubble caps in them to allow the vapor to pass through. It increases the contact time between the vapor and the liquids in the column and helps to collect liquids that form at various heights in the column.

It is one of the devices in large-diameter fractional distillation columns that are designed to produce a bubbling action to exchange the vapor bubbles flowing up the column.
